What is Electro Homoeopathy?
Electrohomoeopathy (also spelled Electrohomeopathy, Electropathy, or known as the Mattei cancer cure) is a system of alternative herbal medicine developed in the 19th century. It is a derivative of classical homeopathy but incorporates pseudoscientific concepts of "electric bio-energy" extracted from plants. The name breaks down as follows: "electro" refers to the claimed electrical properties of the remedies, "homeo" (from Greek "homoios," meaning "similar") draws from homeopathic principles of "like cures like," and "pathy" (from Greek "pathos," meaning "suffering") indicates a treatment for disease. Unlike conventional homeopathy, which uses highly diluted substances to stimulate the body's vital force, electrohomoeopathy focuses on restoring balance in the body's blood and lymphatic systems through plant-based remedies called "electroids." Proponents claim it treats a wide range of conditions, from chronic illnesses to cancer, by addressing underlying imbalances in the body's "electrical" energies without surgery or harsh interventions. However, it has been widely dismissed by the medical establishment as ineffective quackery, with remedies often testing as plain distilled water.
Father of Electrohomoeopathy
The founder and "father" of electrohomoeopathy is Count Cesare Mattei (1809–1896), an Italian nobleman and self-taught physician from near Bologna, Italy. Born into aristocracy, Mattei lived in a Neo-Moorish castle in the Bolognese Apennines, where he conducted his experiments. He studied natural sciences, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, chemistry, and botany, but lacked formal medical training.
